1- Visible light transmittance: in the spectrum of visible light (380 x 10 -1.0 m - 780 x 10 -1.0m), the percentage of transmission spectrum strength to incident spectrum strength.

2- Visible light reflection: in the spectrum of visible light (380 x -1.0 m - 780 x 10 -1.0 m), the percentage of reflected spectrum strength by glass to incident spectrum strength.

Visible light transmittance of windowpane is in direct proportion to visibility indoors. It is to say, the higher transmittance, the lighter indoors. On the contrary, the lower transmittance, the dimmer indoors. While visible light reflection is on the contrary.

3- Sunlight direct transmittance: in the solar spectrum (300 x 10 -1.0 m - 2500 x 10 -1.0 m), the percentage of transmission spectrum strength of ultraviolet light, visible light and close infrared light to incident spectrum strength.

4- Sunlight direct reflection: in the solar spectrum (300 x 10 -1.0 m - 2500 x 10 -1.0 m), the percentage of reflected spectrum strength by glass incident spectrum strength.

5- The total transmittance of Sunlight: the sum of Sunlight direct transmittance and the second radiation.

6- Sunshade coefficient: the ratio of total transmittance of solar radiation through glass window to total transmittance of solar radiation through normal flat glass of 3mm length.

7- Radiance: the proportion between radiant strength of radiator and radiant strength of Plank radiator at the same temperature.

8- Coefficient of conducting heat: because of difference in temperature of indoors and outdoors, heat is conducted form air to air through glass window. Units of the British System: BTU / h. ft2.0F (energy unit of British System / hour. Square foot. Farenheit). Units of the Metric System: W / m2.K (Watt / square meter. Kelvin scale).

In winter: temperature outdoors is 0°F (-18°C), and temperature indoors is 70°F (21°C); air velocity outdoors is 15mph (24Km / h), and air velocity indoors is natural convection, sunlight strength is 0 BTU/h.ft2 (0 W/m2) (in the night).

n summer: temperature outdoors is 90°F (32°C), and temperature indoors is 75°F (24°C); air velocity outdoors is 7.5mph (12Km / h), and air velocity indoors is natural convection, sunlight strength is 248 BTU/h.ft2 (783 W/m2) (in the daylight).
